Two things I “secretly” add to my family’s kefir smoothies that make them over the top healthy.

#1 Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is rich in protein and vitamins B and E, along with essential fatty acids, copper, iron, zinc, manganese and selenium. Spirulina is the only natural food that contains GLA an essential fatty acid that is found only in mother’s milk. This GLA plays a very vital in balancing the hormonal system in the body.

I add about a teaspoon to our smoothies.   If you use too much you will taste it, and it tastes like the ocean.  Oh and remember it is dark in color so it will make your light colored drinks a funny greenish blue.

I buy the powder, but they also sell it in a pill.   Buy a trusted brand name like Nutrex Pure Hawaiian.   I purchased mine at Mother’s Market, but if your not near a health food store you can order it from Vitacoast ( I have no affiliation){keyword}&gclid=CJCK9K7RrrMCFal7QgodIk0A_g

#2 Coconut oil (organic virgin) is one of my favorite things, I use it for everything! Really like 101 things! It’s good for inside the body as well as outside. I add a couple of  tablespoons to our smoothies everyday.

Here’s a couple sites with info about the health benefits of organic virgin coconut oil:
