Smooth natural homemade play-doh

I made this plain but feel free to add color.   If you want it to really be non toxic, you need to use natural color.   If you know your kids won’t eat it you can go ahead and use the cheaper fake colors.   I have used up some of the old ones I had before I learned what was in them.

3 cups sea salt or 5 cup table salt
6 cups plain old cheap flour
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
6 cups water
4 tablespoon oil (coconut or olive)
Food color optional

Mix all ingredients in a large pot on the stove until it becomes stiff and you can pull it out. Knead it a bit on the counter or a cutting board. Careful it’s hot.
Have fun!
Store in a large plastic bag for up to a month. (maybe longer/shorter depending how much it’s played with)
