Thai inspired steak salad – hold the steak and you vegetarians may like it also 🙂
Makes 2 large serving
Dressing:
3 T fresh lime juice
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tablespoon water
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons Sriracha or similar chile paste (or more, depending on how brave you’re feeling)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoon neutral flavored oil like grapeseed)
FOR THE SALAD:
Steak of choice (I used sirloin filet)
Cooked to your liking, I do this last
1 large handful mesclun or chopped lettuce
1 large handful shredded cabbage
1/3 cup seeded, diced cucumber
1/3 cup diced mango
1/3 cup seeded, dice cucumber
1/2 cup chopped cilantro, mint, or Thai (or regular) basil or a combination
Mix salad together with dressing top with sliced cooked steak.
Next time I will pan roast some peanuts or macadamia nuts for topping 🙂
